Automechanika Argentina held its first edition in Buenos Aires in 2000, organized at that time by Indexport SA and Messe Frankfurt do Brasil.
From its inception, the trade show has kept pace with the evolution of Argentina’s automotive and auto parts industry. Even amid a challenging economic climate, it held its second edition in 2002—during one of the country’s most difficult periods—and brought together more than 260 exhibitors.
That same year, the event expanded to include specialized exhibitions such as ExpoLubricentro and ExpoMecánica, which provided new spaces for lubricant professionals, mechanics, and other professionals involved in automotive maintenance, repair, and services.
Over the years, and in line with the parent company’s strategy, Automechanika Argentina was renamed Automechanika Buenos Aires, in reference to the city that has hosted it since its inception.
More than two decades later, the trade show remains the leading event for the auto parts and repair industry throughout Spanish-speaking South America.
Professional development, industry discussions, live workshops, and a business-oriented spirit remain as strong as ever. Just look at the most recent edition, held in 2026, where—under the umbrella of ExpoMecánica—the Tunner Challenge brought together creativity, talent, and technical expertise, revitalizing an initiative aimed at mechanics who transform, repair, and take their passion for vehicles to the next level.
At the same time, professionals from lubrication centers found in the Business Lounge a meeting place that recaptures the essence of ExpoLubricentro, while the international business rounds established themselves as a key platform for boosting the industry’s export capacity.
Thus, Automechanika Buenos Aires continues to build on its history, connecting different generations of professionals and supporting the evolution of an industry in constant motion.
